Tara JAMBIO Blue Carbon Project Oshoro Survey

2025/7/14 The sixth survey was conducted at the Oshoro Marine Station, Hokkaido University, with the help of many people such as Professor Norishige Yotsukura. It is said that kelp used to grow abundantly in the area, but in recent years it has decreased. We found many sea urchins, especially in deeper areas, causing coastal denudation. There were concerns as there were few participants who were able to dive, but as seaweed beds were mainly shallow, the survey was mainly conducted by snorkeling, and we were able to conduct the planned measurements.
